Spring Kings are here!!!

Wow …its early April and Arnaldo and I are fishing for Spring kings. It feel so god to be back in the boat for Salmon on the lake Ontario. Conditions were perfect for seaching for them, we covered lots of water until we found the right conditions..them bam first fish was a nice 5 lbs Coho followed by another shortly after. Then the planner board rips pretty hard …KING ON!!!   of course the other board rips as well …double header !!!  So we have 2 kings on..we manage to get one to the boat .  Cant beat good fishing and weather at this time of year!!

Browns Trout Fever

Its that time of year Again for those Browns …So off we went in search of them in one of our regular spots .  Before getting all the rods down my rod goes off ….with a jumping brown !! Love the way they jump, roll, and pull.

Walleye Fever!!!!

Well its time…..colder winds from the north cool down our waters and those big hungry walleye move in. Bay of quinte has some if not the best walleye fishing in the world. Catches of 10 lbs are commom with the big girls pushing 15 lbs and 32″ long!!  We have been fishing Bay of Quinte the past few weeks with some great weather and lots of fish.

Another great day on the water .  We were after some Giant Crappies today with the weather kinda holding off until we got off the water …we managed many over 13″ with some over 15″  none under 11″ …great sizes for Crappies , most were released, with only a few going home to butter and lemon sauce …mmmmmm

Today I had a full boat 4 kids and 3 adults….consisting of my wife Sharyn , our 3 kids Layla , Ethan and Noah. My sister from Florida and my niece Renee ….We had a great day on the water with flat conditions , no clouds , and no winds!! We went for a little run on the boat to the keep the kids happy stopping once in a while to drop the lines.  We had lunch at the Bluffs and then went back for some more fishing.. The kids were great on the boat , each talking a turn in driving the boat and fighting the fish. We got some great shot of the all of us on the boat including the first salmon Caught by my niece Renee…Nice one!!!

Well today I had a day off ….of course I went fishing back to Lake Ontario to try some new lures and areas . I Boated 19 fish that day fishing solo with a few rainbows in the mix…I guess the new area and lures worked..lol …I did get a big Rainbow Trout off the riggers down deep ona meat rig…37″ long and 18 lbs!!!    This fish put a show on for me with all the jumping around the boat, the fish was released to get even bigger!!!

Fished today with Frank and his son, We have been getting many father and son charters over the past years and it nice to see the time spend together…Now back the the report …We fished the Island today , most fish today were on spoons and few on the meat rigs, we ended up 6 for 13 .   with a few around 18-19 lbs .  These fish pill so hard they do a number on my tackle , and respooling line every week or so!! But all worth the power they have!! Long runs… hard head shakes …and sore arms !!! Gotta love Salmon !!

Lake Ontario fishing Salmon

Billy and a few buddys from the Ottawa area was on board today for an all day charter…today the fish were on the chew!! We boated 19 Salmon all chinooks with the average being aroumd the 20 lbs mark up to 26 lbs . The Salmon were a hard fighting bunch of fish taking long runs up to 400 ft at once making the fight even more fun!!  Another great day!!

We had a afternoon charter for Salmon with Peter Kong and  two colleagues…fish was again petty good with 10 salmon landed in the boat. The size today was smaller on average as the fish are starting to move to deeper water and scattering around the lake. We did manage to fish 10 fish with some salmon taking some nice long runs..

Well back out again today for a P.M. charter With Andrew R.  and his friends from out of town(Ireland). we fish the island getting on to the fish right away..just where I left them from the morning . We landed 19 that evening with a few more lost …a great time on the water most hits were again on meat but some on leadcore with spoons and few on wire with flies…..Great numbers that day!!!
